Putting Conservation in the Ground

The 2009-2010 tree sale was an amazing success with over 65,000 trees sold during the ordering phase; and thousands more sold during the two-day surplus sale!

SCCD would like to thank all of the customers who helped us in our mission to put conservation in the ground. The event went smoothly, despite the snafu of only having one cash register, due to a mechanical failure. Thanks to all who came for their patience!
If you placed an order for this year's sale, please note that you will automatically receive a brochure for the 2010-11 sale in early october. Order early!!!
Please let us know if you would like to help us save on printing costs, and a few trees, by receiving the brochure electronically. Just send your name & e-mail address to Rachel-Rooks@sccd.org.

Since 1970, the Spokane County Conservation District has provided low-cost trees and shrubs for sale to the public at its Annual Tree & Shrub Seedling Sale. The plants are suitable for use in a variety of locations, including your urban backyard and along your streamside property to establish a lush riparian buffer.

More than 25 species are available, and they are categorized as: Native & Ornamental Deciduous Trees, Native Shrubs & Groundcover, Ornamental Shrubs, and Native & Ornamental Conifers.

Most plants are bare-root seedlings, typically 8-24'' tall, unless otherwise indicated. They are not potted, and come in minimum bundles of five. The District does not ship trees and they must be picked up during one of the distribution days in the spring.

For basic planting instructions, please read our Planting Tips.

How to Order

A brochure is mailed in October that will contain a listing of all available trees and shrubs, an order form and instructions. You can either mail in your order form or place your order in person at the District office. Order forms can also be downloaded from this site. Online ordering is not available at this time.

Orders are accepted October through March: the order deadline will be announced when the sale starts. Early ordering is recommended as supplies are limited and orders are filled as they are received.

All orders require a minimum deposit of 50%, with the remaining balance due when you pickup your trees. The only acceptable forms of payment are cash, check or money order. We do not accept credit and/or debit cards.
