Conservation is in all of our hands. Here are a few examples of people and organizations who have taken conservation into their hands. It is through this kind of dedication that we can make a difference in the conservation of our natural resources.

Emtman Brothers Farms The Emtman commitment to conservation dates back to John Emtman, who came to Spokane in the 1880's. The third, fourth and fifth generations continue to work their land with sustainable farming practices.

Leafing-Out in Latah The Town of Latah planted 28 trees in 2006 as part of its urban forestry program. The trees were planted by residents of the community.

Lawrence and Elizabeth Brown - Wildlife Farmer of the Year 2006 The Browns have put years of dedication, hard work and financial sacrifice into their conservation efforts. The result of their work is an area of outstanding native plant and wildlife habitat.

SCCD Helps Communities Celebrate Arbor Day 2007 It's all about the trees on Arbor Day. Many local communities celebrate with the planting of new trees and the Conservation District is their to help.
